Finished!

Am Kamin is off and needles and on the wooly board - still searching for the perfect buttons though! I made two alterations, first I used moss stitch rather than seed stitch for the side panels, then I knit a modified T-shape with saddle rather than raglan. You can see the finished project here:

Dixie,

It is absolutely beautiful! I love the color. I would love to see a picture of you wearing it.

I finished the back and Left front. I am now on the right front.

Question - Did you put the back (40 stitches) and front stitches on stitch holders or did you bind off?

Thank you - Susan

I did not knit a raglan, but a modified T with saddles. I left the back and front stitches "live" and attached them to the saddle as I went along. I knit across Chart A to the last stitch, slipped it, knit 2 together from the back, then passed the slipped stitch over; knitting back (wrong side) when I got to the last stitch, I purled it together with the next 2 stitches from the front. I tried 1:1, but it made the shoulder too full and spread the front and back patterns, so opted to use the 1:2 ratio. I wish I could post a photo in the text, but after 4 tried abandoned it! If someone can lead me through it, I'll try again!

Your sweater is gorgeous! I am so jealous that you have this wonderful sweater completed. Congratulations!

I got my book out today to try to study through the instructions, and I am quite flummoxed in many places. I forgot my password and will have to email Cara to get a new one. Then I'll post my questions to the blog and hopefully you and others who are well on their way can help out. For instance, what does the symbol "O" mean?

Anyway, fantastic job on your sweater!

Gorgeous sweater -- what yarn did you use, and what are the actual measurements of the sweater, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm in the process of contemplating the yarn for mine. . .

Your sweater is beautiful, Dicksie. I'm so glad to see that others are still working on this (or just contemplating beginning it, like me!). I may steal your idea of saddles and modified set-in sleeves, Dicksie. I'd like to make the sweater larger than the pattern, and the thought of re-doing the decreases for the raglan has been daunting! Much easier with your method. Has anyone else upsized it? I'd be more inclined to add some repeats of the cable sections than to use larger needles/gauge. Thanks!
