Swatch or Cardigan?
My big swatch in Rowans Magpie Aran starts to look very promising. Maybe I have started my cardigan:) I am aiming to have a finished measurement of about 105 cm and this looks to be very close. I am using needles 4mm and the gauge is c. 26-27s and 24rows/10cm. I chose to knit the fronts and the back at the same time and I made the ribbing a bit shorter. Now I am doing some shaping for the waist and perhaps I will make set in sleeves. We will see. Picture:

Monica, that link is not working for me, any thoughts? I'd really love to see what you have so far.

BTW-I'm seriously thinking of set in sleeves for me too. If I ever get a yarn chosen....

Monica - The stitch definition is perfect with the rowan magpie! I ordered the rowan scottish tweed and I hope to have similiar results. Here is my question which most of you probably think is obvious but I can't seem to figure out an easy way to resolve it: When you start the back or front and knit through the first half of the row what is the best way to reverse the pattern for easy knitting for the second half of the row? How did you do it? Thanks

Susan: In my blog to be, http://villaaylle.blogspot.com/
I am discussing this same problem, ie how to manage these mirrored patternrepeats. Teresa gave me an excellent idea. I am going to scan the charts, reverse them in Photo Shop and put them in the right order for the fronts and the back. I do not have a problem when I knit from the right side, but on the wrong side I have already made a lot of mistakes. I am going to fix them. Monica

Thank you Monica, I think my brain cells will be worked hard with these charts :)

Great idea Monica. I hadn't thought that far to realize I would come up against that challenge.
Hoorah for technology!
